My Words Are No Substitute For Testing
Here’s why I like squeeze pages. They are so simple that tweaking them for better performance is so easy. There aren’t too many parameters to play with.
And with squeeze pages, you always want to optimize them so that they pull in the most number of subscribers with the least amount of traffic. Having that is having a very efficient squeeze page. And it reflects in your bottom line. With more subscribers or prospects, the more customers you will have.
Of course when you are optimizing your squeeze page, the number tool that you MUST have is split-testing. I will be sharing some tips on optimizing your squeeze page, but what ever I say is not a substitute for testing. With a split testing solution, when ever you are trying to make your squeeze page better, you can run both squeeze pages side by side. With all traffic pointing to one URL, you rotating the squeeze page that appears. And by the end of the day, you can see which squeeze page gets more subscribers.
You can Google for “split-testing” or similar terms to find your split-testing solution. There are remote-hosted solutions and also scripts that you can install on your own server. Choose which ever you think is suitable for you.
Squeeze Page Optimization
I have a few tricks that I use when it comes to optimizing your squeeze page. Before that, I want you to know my formula when it comes to building a squeeze page.
Good Design = Credibility = Trust = Actin = Opt-In = PROFIT!
I cooked that up when I keep seeing how ugly and “cheesy” most squeeze pages are. And these people keep complaining how bad their opt-in rates were. Then I started redesigning their squeeze pages. I made them look better and opt-in rates improved.
Ever since, I started putting good design in squeeze pages. Here’s a little note. Some people put in “too much graphics” into the squeeze page that they look cheesy.
Tip #1 - Clean And Nice, Minimalist Design
If you realize this, with the rise of Web2.0, websites are beginning to use more and more minimalist design. This is where there’s a lot of space with little graphics in them. Yet they still look good.
Some people worry about having graphics make their website less of a “direct-response” approach, and will get lesser opt-ins. Well, I proved them wrong. I did a squeeze page makeover for one of my friends, who promotes dating products. And we increased opt-in rates by 50.2%. Some websites offer free squeeze templates like those.
Tip #2 - 2-Step Headline
What I mean by “2-Step Headline” is where you use one big, short headline. And then continue with a longer, more elaborative headline that explains your offer.
For the first headline, you want to make it really big and really short. Something that nobody can miss. And it targets your audience straight in. The purpose of this first headline is simple - to get them to read your second headline. Normally I use 8 words or less for this.
And then you follow-up with a longer headline that makes people understand what you are offering. For this one, I try to be lesser than 17 words. And for this step 2 headline, I will use some background color on it to make it stand out.
Here’s an example:
Headline 1: Cheesy Squeeze Page With Bad Opt-In Rates?
And then Headline 2: Discover How An Dating Affiliate Marketer Increases Squeeze Page Opt-In Rate By 50.2% With A Simple 20-Minute Makeover
Or maybe something like this.
Headline 1: How To Get Girls!
And then Headline 2: World Renowned Pickup Guru Reveals A Proven Fail-Proof ‘System’ On How To Smoothly Approach Women Anywhere, Connect With Them Within Minutes & Walk Off With As Many Dates As You Want… WITHOUT Ever Getting Any Rejection!
Tip #3 - Tell Them What They Will Get
Some squeeze pages don’t even explain what they are giving away. They just explain about what it contains, but not what it actually is. People need to know what they are getting themselves into.
So if you are giving an ebook, say you are giving an ebook. If you are giving an audio interview, say so. Better still, if you have some kind of ecover graphics. If you are giving away an audio interview, you can put up a graphic of a CD. If you are giving away a discount, have a little photo of that too. You can use this even if you are not giving the actual physical thing. But people will have an idea of what it is.
Tip #4 - Make Sure The Form Is Above The Fold
When talking about websites, above the fold means the first view without having to scroll down. For a squeeze page, you need to make the subscription form visible above the fold.
Why? When it’s a squeeze page, let your visitors know it’s a squeeze page. Let them know that you want their name and email address. When people know what they need to do, it’s more likely they will do it.
There you go. Four little tips that can give huge impact on your squeeze page.

How To Build Continuous Affiliate Income With Squeeze Pages - Part 3 Traffic Generation

Part 1 - Introduction
Part 2 - Your Offer
Part 3 - Traffic Generation
Part 4 - Optimization
In the previous part, I talked about how crafting the right kind of squeeze page offer will make traffic generation effortless. If you haven’t read part 2 of this series, I suggest you do that.
In this article, I will be covering some traffic generation strategies for your squeeze page.
Press Release
After crafting the right kind of offer, you need to spread the offer around. One very effective way to do that is to write a press release. When it comes to press release, just writing about the launch of your squeeze page is not enough. You need to write something that is newsworthy. Something with a very compelling reason for people to visit your squeeze page and want your offer.
If you followed the strategy in the previous part, you should be able to write a very good press release easily.
If you have the budget, and depending on the kind of exposure that you want to get, you can distribute your press release on these sites:
# PRWeb
# PR
# PRBuzz
# PRLeap
# I-NewsWire
If you are paying for your press release distribution, going with just one of the service above is good enough.
Article Marketing
The next thing that you need to do is write articles relating to the topic on your squeeze page. If you are offering a free ebook on affiliate marketing, write an article where you affiliate marketing tips and strategies.
There tons of article directories that you can submit to. But I recommend submitting to just these.
# EzineArticles
# GoArticles
If you feel that your articles are good enough, you can also submit them to authority sites that sent out newsletters to their readers. Generally, what you want to do is submit your articles to related authority sites with huge newsletter distribution or huge traffic.
In the case of Internet marketing and web design, I would consider manually submitting articles to these, hoping to be featured in their newsletter, or at least featured on their website.
# WebProNews
# SiteProNews
# SitePoint
# Web-Source
# WilsonWeb
Pay-Per-Click Advertising
Enough about articles. On with the next traffic strategy - Pay-Per-Click Advertising. With pay-per-click advertising, you get your advertisements appear on search engines when someone searches for the terms you bid for. Some well-known pay-per-click advertising are like:
# Google Adwords
# Yahoo Search Marketing
# MSN adCenter
I always take pay-per-click advertising into account in my marketing. My reason for doing this is that it brings instant, ongoing traffic at minimum investment. With pay-per-click advertising, I get to quickly see how my squeeze page is performing when given traffic.
I will admit that I am not a pro when it comes to pay-per-click advertising. What I do is just bid for the most related keywords. With some, which offer squeeze pages, I bid for terms like “squeeze page”, “squeeze page template” and “name squeeze”. Those are very specific keywords. Maybe I don’t get much traffic from here, but I always get highly targeted traffic. And these traffics converts better.
Ezine Cross-Promotions
This is a great free way to promote your new squeeze page.
Almost all web marketers have their own mailing list. And I am sure that you subscribe to quite a number of those. Or probably you’ve an ebook, or software from these online marketers in past. You can even go to some marketplace like ClickBank Marketplace, or the 7DollarOffers.com and search for merchants that are promoting products similar to your free offer.
Let’s consider these as your joint venture partner.
Here’s what you’ll do. It’s easier if you already have another mailing list though. You can offer the your joint venture partner to promote his product or his ezine, in return for promoting your squeeze page.
If you don’t have anything else to offer, at the very least, you can simply ask him to mention your new squeeze page to his list. You see, the keyword here is “mention” or “blurb”. Don’t ask them to promote your squeeze page when you don’t have anything else to offer. You are simply asking for help, and stress out that their readers will love them for showing a free resource every once in a while. Remember you great offer from Part 2. Use that when approaching joint venture partners.
You can also put up a paid offer, also known as one-time-offer, after website visitors sign-up for your free offer. When you have something like this, you can offer commissions to your JV partners when their referrals buy your paid offer.
Well, this is going deep into viral marketing strategies. Let’s save that for another article.
Ezine Advertising
Not many ezines are worth advertising in. And the good ones may require huge up-front investment. That’s the thing with ezine advertising. You don’t have much space for mistakes. With PPC, you can start with a small budget and test the first 100 clicks, test how conversion is, tweak it, change keywords, change the ads. But with ezine advertising, it’s almost like advertising in the newspaper — you can’t make changes.
But the good thing is, you can get a huge amount of traffic coming to you rather quickly. However, I would suggest that you get traffic to your squeeze page using the other methods first. Make sure that you are getting good conversions before going for ezine advertising.
Having said that, here are some ezines that you can advertise in if you are into the Internet marketing niche.
# Ezine Queen
# Associate Programs
# Web Marketing Today
# RIM Digest
# BizWeb eGazette
# SelfGrowth Newsletters
Visit their websites and subscribe to their ezine to know about advertising rates. I guess I have covered quite a number of traffic generation strategies to get traffic flowing to your squeeze page. Start using these strategies and get your squeeze page off the ground.

How To Build Continuous Affiliate Income With Squeeze Pages - Part 2
Your Offer
By Iszuddin Ismail
More In This Series
Part 1 - Introduction
Part 2 - Your Offer
Part 3 - Traffic Generation
Part 4 - Optimization
In part 1, I covered pretty much how you use a squeeze page to build affiliate income. The biggest secret is about putting the right messages in your autoresponder sequence. With the right messages, you will be earning affiliate commissions on autopilot.
Now, how do we get traffic to your squeeze page?
It starts with your offer. I have two rules when it comes to your offer.
1 - It has be something people really want.
2 - It has to be something new or unique.
Some places offer squeeze page templates. And these are not just any kind of squeeze page templates. They are professionally-designed. They look nice and clean, and what’s important is that they convert more visitors into subscribers. It’s not any other squeeze page templates you normally see out there.
I even have an angle when promoting, and I tell them that their squeeze page templates are cheesy, and mine will perform better. And on my squeeze page, I even tell them that I improved the squeeze page of another affiliate marketer by 50.2%. And I put that in a PDF report that they can download and read.
Here’s how you can craft your offer.
Take a look at other offers out there. And then think about how you can make yours different or unique. Sometimes, all that I see is that people just offer more stuffs. But all those “extra” stuffs have no value in them. People are not excited even if you pile 20 ebooks in there, and claim they are worth thousands. You have to know what people want. And you have to be unique.
Let me give you a few example. If you want to offer information about affiliate marketing, instead of telling your website visitors they will make a lot of money, you can tell them they can see their first dollar within 7 days. And have proof that you have done it before.
Here’s another example. You see that many websites are offering information on how to make money with Adsense. Instead of doing that, why don’t you show something that is “better-than-Adsense”. Or
