How To Build Continuous Affiliate Income With Squeeze Pages - Part 3 Traffic Generation

More In This Series

Part 1 - Introduction

Part 2 - Your Offer

Part 3 - Traffic Generation

Part 4 - Optimization

In the previous part, I talked about how crafting the right kind of squeeze page offer will make traffic generation effortless. If you haven’t read part 2 of this series, I suggest you do that.

In this article, I will be covering some traffic generation strategies for your squeeze page.

Press Release

After crafting the right kind of offer, you need to spread the offer around. One very effective way to do that is to write a press release. When it comes to press release, just writing about the launch of your squeeze page is not enough. You need to write something that is newsworthy. Something with a very compelling reason for people to visit your squeeze page and want your offer.

If you followed the strategy in the previous part, you should be able to write a very good press release easily.

If you have the budget, and depending on the kind of exposure that you want to get, you can distribute your press release on these sites:

# PRWeb
# PR
# PRBuzz
# PRLeap
# I-NewsWire

If you are paying for your press release distribution, going with just one of the service above is good enough.

Article Marketing

The next thing that you need to do is write articles relating to the topic on your squeeze page. If you are offering a free ebook on affiliate marketing, write an article where you affiliate marketing tips and strategies.

There tons of article directories that you can submit to. But I recommend submitting to just these.

# EzineArticles
# GoArticles

If you feel that your articles are good enough, you can also submit them to authority sites that sent out newsletters to their readers. Generally, what you want to do is submit your articles to related authority sites with huge newsletter distribution or huge traffic.

In the case of Internet marketing and web design, I would consider manually submitting articles to these, hoping to be featured in their newsletter, or at least featured on their website.

Pay-Per-Click Advertising

Enough about articles. On with the next traffic strategy - Pay-Per-Click Advertising. With pay-per-click advertising, you get your advertisements appear on search engines when someone searches for the terms you bid for. Some well-known pay-per-click advertising are like:

# Google Adwords
# Yahoo Search Marketing
# MSN adCenter

I always take pay-per-click advertising into account in my marketing. My reason for doing this is that it brings instant, ongoing traffic at minimum investment. With pay-per-click advertising, I get to quickly see how my squeeze page is performing when given traffic.

I will admit that I am not a pro when it comes to pay-per-click advertising. What I do is just bid for the most related keywords. With some, which offer squeeze pages, I bid for terms like “squeeze page”, “squeeze page template” and “name squeeze”. Those are very specific keywords. Maybe I don’t get much traffic from here, but I always get highly targeted traffic. And these traffics converts better.

Ezine Cross-Promotions

This is a great free way to promote your new squeeze page.

Almost all web marketers have their own mailing list. And I am sure that you subscribe to quite a number of those. Or probably you’ve an ebook, or software from these online marketers in past. You can even go to some marketplace like ClickBank Marketplace, or the 7DollarOffers.com and search for merchants that are promoting products similar to your free offer.

Let’s consider these as your joint venture partner.

Here’s what you’ll do. It’s easier if you already have another mailing list though. You can offer the your joint venture partner to promote his product or his ezine, in return for promoting your squeeze page.

If you don’t have anything else to offer, at the very least, you can simply ask him to mention your new squeeze page to his list. You see, the keyword here is “mention” or “blurb”. Don’t ask them to promote your squeeze page when you don’t have anything else to offer. You are simply asking for help, and stress out that their readers will love them for showing a free resource every once in a while. Remember you great offer from Part 2. Use that when approaching joint venture partners.

You can also put up a paid offer, also known as one-time-offer, after website visitors sign-up for your free offer. When you have something like this, you can offer commissions to your JV partners when their referrals buy your paid offer.

Well, this is going deep into viral marketing strategies. Let’s save that for another article.

Ezine Advertising

Not many ezines are worth advertising in. And the good ones may require huge up-front investment. That’s the thing with ezine advertising. You don’t have much space for mistakes. With PPC, you can start with a small budget and test the first 100 clicks, test how conversion is, tweak it, change keywords, change the ads. But with ezine advertising, it’s almost like advertising in the newspaper — you can’t make changes.

But the good thing is, you can get a huge amount of traffic coming to you rather quickly. However, I would suggest that you get traffic to your squeeze page using the other methods first. Make sure that you are getting good conversions before going for ezine advertising.

Having said that, here are some ezines that you can advertise in if you are into the Internet marketing niche.

# Ezine Queen

# Associate Programs

# Web Marketing Today

# RIM Digest

# BizWeb eGazette

# SelfGrowth Newsletters

Visit their websites and subscribe to their ezine to know about advertising rates. I guess I have covered quite a number of traffic generation strategies to get traffic flowing to your squeeze page. Start using these strategies and get your squeeze page off the ground.
